Natural Ketchup


Ketchup Makeover!! This recipe has no corn syrup or white sugar (or brown sugar, which is white sugar & molasses). I use molasses in mine. It gives it a nice deep flavor.  This makes a perfect base for barbecue sauce. If you want a lighter flavor, use honey instead.


Natural Ketchup


  • 12 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup molasses or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • dash ground cloves
  • dash cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar


  1. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Flavors are better after chilling overnight.
  3. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
